An Open Letter to OSH Friends

Dear Friends,

In case you missed Amanda’s video/post on Facebook awhile back, I wanted to introduce myself and say “hello”. Amanda is crazy busy these days and moving on to other projects and to a new adventure. Change is difficult, scary, and exciting, but she feels now is the right time. Please don’t worry – she will still be around, more of a “behind the scenes” role and will also be launching something new soon (I would tell you more, but I don’t want to ruin the unveiling!).

Because you all are such loyal followers, I thought it best to do the Southern thing and properly introduce myself. My name is Jen Anderson and I will be continuing the story of Our Storied Home. I am so excited about my own new adventure, here, with you, and I hope we can all get to know each other. I’m still learning things so be gentle with me. Fair enough?

I want to continue Our Storied Home with my own story, a story that while different than Amanda’s, will still hopefully bring the wonderfully warm and authentic atmosphere that she created (seemingly with little effort! She is amazing, isn’t she?). My style is a little different – I’m an eclectic kind of girl who doesn’t shy away from color, and a wee bit of an introvert, so I will be stepping out of my comfort zone to share a little more of myself with you. I have been working really hard to post some new content and catch up on a few hundred e-mails and comments.

I was born and raised in Kentucky by wonderful parents who both sadly passed away within the last 20 months or so. I’m traveling that path these days — grieving and “adulting”. While I am having to do adult things, I still don’t feel like a grown up most days. I am happily divorced with an almost 20 year old son, who I am so very proud of. He’s practical and got a good head on his shoulders. Thank goodness one of us does.

Learning to do new things is a passion, I’m a DIY kind of gal who doesn’t mind getting messy and who knows how to use power tools with the best of ’em. I enjoy photography, gardening, crafting, cooking and entertaining, so I think this will be a good fit, don’t you? I just realized this sounds like a dating profile. My apologies.

I am also a children’s yoga teacher, and I specialize in working with special needs children. I developed my own curriculum, YoGalore, so if you’ve got little ones in some capacity, be sure to hop over and visit www.yogaloreandmore.com. Lots of activities and fun stuff there.

Please contact me with any ideas, or just to say “hi”.

Warmly,

Jen
